Gymstar
The Gymstar program has levels (1 to 10) similar to ALP (Australian Levels Program) but allows gymnasts a greater variety of skills and allows individual flexibility.
Gymstar’s main objective is for all participants to enjoy the experience of competing without the strict guidelines of the ALP program. The program consists of 6 apparatus – Vault, Uneven Bars, Beam, Floor, Rings and Parallel bars. Awards are considered secondary with the primary focus on doing your best and the execution of skills rather than skill difficulty.
Flexibility within the competition requirements also allow for gymnasts with varying strengths and skills to work at their particular level. Gymstar allows girls and boys to cross over from ALP to the Gymstar program. Currently Gym star participants are given an opportunity to compete from Gymstar Level 3 and above.
Gymstar participants train between 1.5 to 3 hours per week.
